Default family business

I have been a working for my husband's company for 3 years now as a bookkeeper and office manager. He is laying off all of his 4 employees, me included due to the down economy. Can I claim my unemployement benefits, just as all the other W2 employees?

Thanks

Hi,
I suggest you to contact a lawyer but still want to say you something since it is your husbands business so it's responsibility is in the hands of both so I suggest you not go for any consultant which is good for your family life.

I suggest you not to ask for any rights since the company is your husbands better not to ask for any thing.

You are in a situation of great grief....i would suggest you to first just try to make your husband to know the situation you are going with. Then make him to know the problem of handling all issues as a one coz you are saying that he laid off employees due to down economy...ok. I think it's not fair to go for anyone about your situation. But try to solve as your own..good luck
