Default resume questions

i have not updated my resume in awhile. Is it true a resume must be 1 page? How far back should I go on jobs, should I include part time and temp work? What type of computer skills should I list, if any? General word/excel/internet skills or is that assumed and too simple?

Go back 5 years on jobs. Any information that you can use that may help you get hired is useful. And i didn't realize that it had to be one page.

It depends on your particular field and position. I think that if you are applying for an entry level position, a resume is typically one to two pages. Also, computer skills are more important in certain fields than in others, and I would agree that MS Word may be too basic to list for many fields.

There are plenty of free sample resumes online. Just google for them, and they can give you some idea of how to write your resumes. There are also some resume editing sites like internationaleliteresumes.com that provide low-cost resume and cover letter editing services, which can be the final step in your writing/editing process.

Good luck with your job search!

Your resume doesn't necessarily have to be one page only but you should shorten it as much as possible. Make everything complete but brief. The problem with other applicants is that their resumes are like essays that narrates their whole life. Avoid that because employers is not interested in that.

Hi,

Among the many work from the home opportunities that we find today, medical transcription is a popular one. This is a highly specialized work at home job. A person who is willing to get into the field of medical transcription work at home needs different types of skills and training. But remember this is not a scheme that makes you rich overnight. The job of medical transcription work at home is a highly responsible job that requires real medical skills, high levels of knowledge and degree. It is not as simple as stuffing envelopes or a typing work. This job has the same relevance as the job of a doctor's assistant.

Thanks,
Kelly.

A one page resume is the best. Employers usually look thru resumes quickly. However, two pages might be acceptable sometimes.

It is advisable to always have an up to date CV in order to have more chances to get a job. An outdated CV is very obvious.

Cool Resumes and Cover Letter

One page is the best, but it is not always possible to squeeze everything on one page. I have been reading alot lately about job hunting as I am doing that, and they seem to be pushing the "Cover Letter". I will admit I have been lazy about sending one as I felt the position I am applying for is stated in the OBJECTIVE section of my resume. A
